What are Visual Effects?
Visual effects (commonly shortened to VFX) is the term used for creating images for film or TV that cannot be filmed with a camera.This can range from creating a complicated spaceship battle, making an imaginary create come alive or generating a whole new world.
There are many exciting and varied careers available in VFX, all requiring different skills.
What is ACCESS:VFX? We are a cross-company initiative to promote diversity and inclusion in the VFX industry. Many VFX companies, educational organisations and stakeholders have come together to plan and create events to raise awareness and champion the important issue, helping to bring about change.

Do I need to go to University?
Going to University to study a VFX related degree is the most common route into the industry, but it is by no means the only one. Many companies offer Internship placements and Apprentiships and entry-level Runner positions.
What types of skills are needed?
From visually creative talents required for a 3D Artist, to organisational skills needed for a Producer there's a role for everyone.
